War is the reality today in Sudan

Sudan War Crisis

War is the reality today in Sudan.

Khartoum, the heavily populated capital (10-12 million people) is under gunfire, air, and artillery bombardment.

The health system is on the verge of collapse. Hospitals are inventing miracles to discharge their duties. Wounded people cannot be served. The deceased cannot be buried

HumanResus statement on THE Sudan war crisis

The ongoing military conflict has created a significant lack of security, making it difficult for health workers to access hospitals and leading to casualties among them. Those already in hospitals are working continuously for days, with the majority of casualties being due to gunshots and stabbings resulting from looting

Furthermore, more than 80% of hospitals are currently out of service due to various reasons such as lack of safety, medical and power supply, and partial or complete destruction. Health workers from different specialties are relocating to the nearest functioning health centers and clinics
